Administrative Assistant. We are seeking a volunteer administrative assistant to support the Commission's records management procedures and processes in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). We are looking for someone who is organized and detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Facility with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and office equipment such as a copy/scan/print machine is a must. We prefer someone who likes office management and has a desire to learn more about the Commission and its role in the community. The time commitment is 3 to 5 hours per week, with work performed between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at RRBC's downtown office located at 801 W. Main Street, Suite 202, Charlottesville.
Environmental Research Assistant. We are seeking a volunteer research assistant to support the Commission in providing a clearing house for information on the Rivanna River. One task includes research and analysis on Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) allocations for streams in the Rivanna watershed. Another task involves collecting studies and reports pertaining to the Rivanna River and natural resources in the watershed. We're looking for someone with a strong interest in watershed policy and experience in GIS. The time commitment is approximately 5 hours per week, with the majority of the work performed at RRBC's office located at 801 W. Main Street, Suite 202, Charlottesville, and between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Occasionally, there may be stipends for internships in selected programs; however, most internships offer experience or course credit in exchange for your assistance in an area of common interest.
The Rivanna River Basin Commission provides guidance for the stewardship of water and natural resources of the Rivanna River Basin and promotes activities by local, state, and federal governments, and by individuals, that foster resource stewardship for the environmental and economic health of the Basin.
The Commission has representatives from these jurisdictions and organizations.
