Rivanna River Watershed Fails Watchdog’s Standards, Daily Progress, July 24, 2008

About three-quarters of the streams tested in the Rivanna River watershed failed to meet Department of Environmental Quality standards, according to a new report ... "It's pretty alarming," that three-quarters of the tested streams failed, said Marvin Moss, vice chairman of the Rivanna River Basin Commission and Chairman of the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors. The Rivanna River Basin Commission provides guidance for the stewardship of water and natural resources of the Rivanna River Basin and promotes activities by local, state, and federal governments, and by individuals, that foster resource stewardship for the environmental and economic health of the Basin.
