RRBC Letter to Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources re: Bay TMDL Phase II WIP, February 15, 2011
The RRBC is writing to encourage the preservation of local water quality and watershed ecological health as a cornerstone in developing Phase II watershed implementation plans (WIP) in Virginia to meet the Chesapeake Bay TMDL allocations.

The RRBC has been playing an active role informing local juristictions about the proposed Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (Bay TMDL). The Commission has been working with area partners to develop a dialogue with and between all source sectors as part of the Piedmont Regional Pilot Project (PRPP).

Greene County Comprehensive Plan Draft Goals and Implementation Strategies" that offer suggestions for enhancing watershed protection and especially for conserving existing healthy waters in the County.
RRBC Letter to localities on altered hydrology, January 15, 2009
The RRBC has determined that the primary threat to the health of the Rivanna Basin, and its streams, is excessive sedimentation caused by stormwater related streamflows which scour the channels. The RRBC has now enthusiatically endorsed best management practices (BMPs) to address this threat.
The Rivanna River Basin Commission provides guidance for the stewardship of water and natural resources of the Rivanna River Basin and promotes activities by local, state, and federal governments, and by individuals, that foster resource stewardship for the environmental and economic health of the Basin.
The Commission has representatives from these jurisdictions and organizations.
